There are TONS of things to do in and around San Diego. Check out the list below and visit their websites for more info. THE BEACH Here are a few of our favorite local beaches. Torrey Pines - It's usually not too crowded on a typical weekend, the surf is pretty good, and there is a lot more to do than just lay in the sun. The south parking entrance leads up to the State Park, which has lots of trails. The bus has a stop there so it's easy to get to. Be sure to pack a lunch and drinks though because the closest restaraunt or convenience store is quite a walk. La Jolla Shores - just over the hill and south of Torrey Pines is La Jolla Shores. This beach also features a nearby park. The beach itself is huge and is family friendly. Another cool thing about La Jolla Shores is that it has easy access to shops. San Diego has a bunch of museums to check out and many of them are near each other in Balboa Park (which is its own attraction). There are museums for history and photography buffs, plane and car enthusiasts, and a cool place called the Ruben H FLeet science center. There is a miniature train museum too. http://balboapark.org/in-the-park/organizations.php?catID=5 FREE EVENTS There is a free local publication that comes out in the County of San Diego every Thursday called "The Reader".
