What if I have no Income?
If you have no income and are unable to work, the most immediate help can be found by calling or visiting a County Health & Human Services Family Resource Center. Staff there can help you determine your eligibility and can direct you to the steps necessary for applying for assistance.
- General Reliefis for San Diego County residents, ages 18 - 64, that do not have children. The monies received will have to be paid back through job training hours and / or employment. http://www.sdcounty.ca.gov/hhsa/programs/ssp/general_relief/index.html
- CalWORKS (Cash Aid) for San Diego County residents, ages 18-60, that have children ages 0 - 18 years of age.Full time productivity of job searching, training, or employment is required. http://www.sdcounty.ca.gov/hhsa/programs/ssp/calworks/index.html
- Food Stamps is for San Diego County residents,who have a social secuity number or have applied for one. The program is called Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). http://www.sdcounty.ca.gov/hhsa/programs/ssp/food_stamps/
